The Sad Fact about the Malaysian Paintball Story - What's in iT for ME..Huh? says the weasle. By an EDUCATED paintballer to ALL paintballers. Written by: Vegas aka The Oracle

The recent concluded Sports Commission Public Hearing on forming the 'FEDESSOCIATUAN PAINTBALL OF MALAYSIA'. Quite a mouthful isn't it..??

Well , for arguments sake (let's hope no one starts anything with me..God knows i'm 'RETIRED' from the game..) let's stick with this name for now.

Who am I?? wow..to answer that question, we have to tavel back in TIME to 2003...but we'r nOt going to do that. Let's just say I'm the OLD DAWG that just won't die..well not yet anyway.

In an industry whereby from a weekend sports up till becoming an international renowned hub for the industry has certainly taken it's toll. Friends have become nemesis(no relation to the team, sory), brothers have become strangers, team mates have become debtors, millionaires become paupers, husbands & wives had become strange bedfellows and weasels still remain as weasles but to a larger extent. xD

So...what's the hearing all about?? That depends actually to who's answering that question. Truthfully ( and I dare anyone to challenge me..especially the weasles..hehe) all the answers will point to ONE DIRECTION.." What's in it For Me??" Dictatiing the momentum of the whole hearing was all about this...although no one in their right mind would dare to admit it (not openly anyway).

The politically correct answer from me would be " WHO IS THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE (S) TO SPEARHEAD THE INDUSTRY & TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL???" Yes!! I've said it, that's the HOLY TRUTH , the ONLY TRUTH so help me GOD. You take away the PANDEMONIUM of the Kampong crowd , the jeers of the FOOTBALL Hooligans, the squealing & stomping feet of the weasle (we must not forget the weasle, he too is a major contributor to the cHEQUES & bALANCES..huhu)

We cannot vote based on an empty stomach , nor can we vote based on running a popularity contest. Instead we must vote based on the fact of seeing Malaysia our beloved country being recognised as a international leader in this industry.
Ok..so who do we have on the interim comittee again?? We really need a business savvy, gun toting suave talking team here. Be it locally savvy with the government agencies OR rollicking with the international community. Does it really matter...as long as the BALL is in our courts.

Clear your mind , release your consience for a while. Pause !! Think!! We already have the answers, wether we may want to admit it OR not. Do not forsake the cause for personal greed , for that same greed will catch up on us one day. Let me create a few scenarios to help you clear that consience.

Eg: Running a heavily sponsored event based from public funds will kill the sport faster than you think.
Players are subsidised heavily from pellets, tourney fees, hotel lodging, merchandizing, transportation of equipment, air fares, entertainment fees etc.
PLAYERS : GOOD ))$ + FUN
ORGANIZER : HAPPY Smiley)))))$$$$$$$$$
WRONG : What happens when the 'SPONSORSHIP' stops???

ANSWER : When actual market conditions prevail , no one ( or only a select few) can afford the game. Field operators close. Merchandizers fold up. The players..well, they go back to the local mamak shops reminiscing the 'old days'.

Eg: When the markers licensing issue is still in the grey area, what will happen??
When something happens, as it always does..ask Murphy (Murphy's Law).Ie: Robbery using a marker/ Accident resulting from marker abuse/ other paramilitary training camps springing up disguised as paintball fields..etc.
The authorities will come in and stamp their mark.

PLAYERS : Instantly become fugitives / associated with underground networks
ORGANISERS : Do not get permits to organize future events
MERCHANDIZERS : KAPUT but they still can create a new wave fashion from the leftover stock
THE SPORT : Dies a PREMATURE DEATH
ME : I got nuting to write about... Sad((

Unregulated paintball fields/ paintball markers/ ownership/ usage. All this can lead to rather unnerving and pecarious endings. Not to mention unhealthy. As I pointed out earlier this can be easily abused by certain quarters and very soon the sport will meet an early demise.

Yes, it is about the industry (not mine , but yours..)
If we do not have a proper leadership in this time of dire straits , BELIEVE ME 'someone' , probably by the weasle's own GRAND DESIGN will STEP IN and start barking orders. He had tried before, he has not failed but he's waiting and wanting.

So, pls do not be so wanting to be in position so bad that you cannot see what is beyond your own confines. See beyond the gratituos rewards and vision a panaromic diorama ending it so well deserves.

It's not about " What's in It for Me anymore??"

It should be "Let's Do the RIGHT THING now" and let the fuTure take it's course . Let's create a capable and staunch Paintball Body that represents the masses and of course can generate the leeway to cut through the ice. WE have a WORLD TO BUILD !!

STEP UP & TAKE CHARGE!!

Why politics are going on in PB??

common guys lets make this a LONG TERM thing for the sake of malaysian paintball industry dont la make it a "hangat hangat tahi ayam" (although this is common among malaysians  Sad truth)

a strong building needs a strong foundation, KLCC is made on strong foundation and not from straws thats why its still standing tall and world known. so does PB association of malaysia.. if WE paintballers do love the sports STOP & THINK whos "FIT" enuf to play this role!!

in an association no such thing as "AKU leh?" term as it is for the benefits of ALL WHO LOVE THE SPORTS! unless its a self centered association then i say GOD BLESS the association!

1 HAPPY malaysian paintballer!
