Have all sorts of written rules of where can coach and such but with no enforcement it makes no use anyway. Just look at the last WCA.... no coaching for D3 but there were teams coaching from all corners of the field... thanks in no part the foreign language they converse in. So yeah ENFORCEMENT. Penalize/Ban the team for having coaching from whoever it may be from where ever it may be apart from the designated area.

I don't think you can ban teams for someone else's actions unless its obvious that the coach is a member of that team and or organised by the team.

What's to stop me walking up and start coaching an opposition team and then getting them penalized/banned?

In last year WCA D3 it was very obvious and there was supposed to be no coaching in the first place.

yes, no coaching for that division, but some ppl acted as if they were talking to each other in their own language when they were actually feeding info to the ppl inside..

...& yes, we can't just ban a team for 'outside coaching' from the audience since ppl might use that just to get certain team banned.

so how are we gonna prevent all these without 'mistakenly' ban a team...?
- more strict enforcement of the rules.. no shouting whatsoever near the no-coaching field, purge those individuals from tourney ground regardless of how rich or 'important' they might be to the event... - a no-dispute tourney (even without big names playing) is much preferred than big sponsorship or large participation... think of the 'smaller guys' - D3 & D4 are the future of the sports...

Its going to be extremely difficult for the Div 2 guys to coach at WCA with Div 3 and Div 4 guys playing right next to them inside a Hall.

i think to prevent such things from happening is:

1. do not allow anyone walking around the arena/field... aka walking / coaching at all four corners

2. Have designated areas for spectators with 5 feet away from the net. so if they are coaching unconsciously they have to scream their lungs out! and it would be damn obvious for "YOU" to shut em up gently!  Tongue

3. Players / coaching tent and other stuff be on the opposite site of the spectators AWAY from NON-PLAYERS / CREW!!

Well penalized/ban a team for this matter doesn't help in promoting paintballing but if that person is identified so be it a player of the team or other team caught coaching outside Give him a "YELLOW CARD " (Cant play for 1 game or 2 min suspension) if caught the second time "Red Card" (Banned from playing).

Everyone deserve a second chance.

Just giving my 2 cents. ofcoz if space/man power permits the committee to do such changes!  Grin

i also would like to voice my concerns around a compact schedule of mpoc and pals. we end up having two tournaments a month until july and then nothing for 5 months. basically financially, and timewise, it makes it very difficult to participate in the events.

Proposed Dates:
14/15th Jan - WP/Selangor
3/4th March - TBC(Outstation)
20/21st April - Kedah
2/3rd June - Xtion Paintball(KL)
14/15th July - Grand Finale in Putrajaya!!

Please share your thoughts now..:-).Do forgive us if our dates clashes with anyone's events as we do have to keep the PALS's events and our Battlefield Putrajaya 2012 in May in mind as well!

Hi Paul,

Could you kind advise if the dates are confirmed for 2012 please?

We would need to plan for games, come January 2012 Smiley

Cheerios!

You can help us plan better by commiting for the season early. It could mean better prizemoney, sponsorship packages fr vendors and one helluva MPOC 2012.

Don't forget that the MPOC is the League of Champions catering to quality rather than quantity..slots are limited. We have room only for positive teams with positive attitudes towards advancement for both team and sport.Cheers!

I totally agree on spreading the schedule a little bit. It will give players to save a bit and time to train 1-2 weeks before tournament.

Regarding the captain's meeting in a location closer to the venue would be very helpful. Stuck for hours in the traffic is no fun  Undecided
