Dear All,
To all the teams who attended the Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit 2nd Leg, the vendors, the secretariat, marshals and media partners, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for showcasing a weekend of great paintball that was MPOCs most ASEAN/international to date (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia).
Firstly, let me apologize for the infrastructure standards. We have set a high standard for the MPOC with electronic scoreboards, buzzers, etc. Maintaining those high standards will be one of our top priorities. Please bear with us as we are currently undergoing a transition phase. I would like to thank all the great international, outstation and local teams for being so patient and supportive. We failed to bring the scoreboards online at the Division 3 Field due to a technical malfunction. From the next leg onwards, we will be revamping our entire scoreboard team and upgrading the sound system for the Division 1, 2 and 3 fields.
Special apology from me to Team Kraken for being affected by the scoreboard and buzzer downtime yet conducted themselves with professionalism.
With regards to Team Armada Shooters query on the Top 8 scheduling, during the Captain's Meeting, the schedules were distributed to all present with no queries regarding the Top 8 qualifiers. The Quarterfinals (Top 8.) for Division 3 that was printed on the schedule (Same as MPOC 2012 - 1st Leg) were as follows: 1st vs. 5th, 2nd vs. 6th, 3rd vs. 7th, 4th vs. 8th.
Based on the recent MPOC committee post-mortem meeting, we will set the schedule from the next leg onwards for Quarterfinals/Top 8 back into the normal preferred sequence: The Quarterfinals (Top 8.): 1st vs. 8th, 2nd vs. 7th, 3rd vs. 6th, 4th vs. 5th. We will also look into displaying the scoring/results more efficiently on the flat screen television.
All of you were great and it was an honour for my team and I to be facilitating this great sport of ours - PAINTBALL - on your behalf. Thank you and congratulations to all of you!
